Move over Harry Potter there is a new hero in town. Percy Jackson is America's attempt at gaining a literary/film hero genre back. How better to do this, than the man that brought Harry Potter into the cinema, Chris Columbus. For many years the American youth have been looking to a British boarding school wizard for inspiration, Percy still lives with his mother and alot more gritty and although being a demi-god is more down to earth. The books are self contained stories and by the looks of the film the 2 hour long story arcs will be too. Granted there is a mega arc of Percy becoming a man and finding himself but so much teenage fiction deals with that as well. Chris Columbus has done the incredible by bringing a second series to life, what next for this amazing producer/director?
