But when I...

When I go to certain social gatherings I quite often run into this particular couple. I'm sure we all know the type that have seen, been, done, held, and know more than anyone else in the group although they have no evidence or willing to provide any when asked. They often let other people direct and start conversations and then chime in with "That's fine but when I..." And then have a story to tell. These people also have a talent of putting other people down and promoting their partners. I had the pleasure to be invited to their place for a meal recently after they came to my place for a stir-fry meal. One of the couple claimed that their partner makes a better stir-fry then this and I should come to their place and try it for myself. So a week later I sat at their table only to be served something so dry and flavorless that I had to eat it with a knife and fork, just to cut the meat. I said it was pleasant meal and they bragged that they had impressed me. I asked how long they marinated the meat for and they told me that you don't marinate meat as it makes it go off. Hmmm. Still I bit my tongue. One thing I can always say is that these people may drive me mental but at least I'm practicing how to keep my patience.

This same couple recently purchased blackberry's so they can access particular apps. But still call those who use apps on iPhones ans iPods pretentious, funnily they are one of the first people to whip out their new blackberry's to google something if it comes up in a conversation, just so they can be the first with the info. They also find ways to bring their phones into conversations, constantly. I have noticed though in our circle of friends that they are being invited to less and less social gathering. They believe they are witty but are often rude, they offend people more often than not and when asked for help are the first to come up win an excuse for not doing it. However, when they asked for help and noone showed up they slagged people off on facebook, charming ain't they?
